Elliott Chamberlain (Leicester - striker)
Scored the winner as the Foxes U18 team made it five wins from five this
season. Chamberlain bagged his sides third in a 3-2 win, but unfortunately
pulled out of the Wales U19 squad for the trip to Malta.
Simon Church (Reading - striker) Was back
in the starting XI last weekend as the Royals lost dramatically to
Peterborough. Church glanced in from 6 yards as the Royals took a two goal lead
which they would end up squandring.
Wayne Farmer (Shrewsbury - defender)
Started for the reserves this week as they took on Port Vale. Farmer played 90
minutes in the 1-1 draw.
Keiron Freeman (Nottingham Forest -
defender) And his fellow defenders kept a clean sheet as the Forest U18
team beat Everton 1-0 last Saturday morning. Forest have now managed a
Merseyside double after beating Liverpool earlier in the season.
Sam Jones (Leeds - midfielder) Was back in
the U18 match day squad at the weekend after an injury kept him out of the start
of the season. Jones came off the bench as Leeds won 1-0.
Kurtis March (Swansea - midfielder) Was on
target with his first goal fro the Swansea youth team after his switch from
Cardiff City in the summer. The midfielder broke the offside trap before
slotting home in the 2-2 draw with Yeovil.
Aynsley McDonald (Rushden and Diamonds -
defender) Captained the youth team as they advances to the next round
of the FA Youth Cup with a 5-0 win against Leighton Town Youth on Thursday
night.
Kayne McLaggon (Southampton - striker) Is
making good progress after rupturing his achilles in training in late
Ferburary. It is thought the striker will step up his training in the next 2-3
weeks.
Vinnie Mukendi (Macclesfield - striker)
Notched his sixth of the season for the youth team last weekend as they beat
Wrexham. Mukendi who was in the U19 training camp has started the season in fine
form.
Thomas Gregg Lopes Da Silva (Swansea -
striker) Scored his first club for the youth team as they drew 2-2 with
Yeovil last weekend. The young striker stabbed home the leveller from close
range to open his account for the season.
Christian Ribeiro (Bristol City -
defender) Struck twice as the City reserves hit Swindon for six on
Tuesday afternoon. Ribeiro nicked the first from a Nyatanga goal bound effort
before heading the second just after the hour in a 6-2 win.
Jake Taylor (Reading - striker) Struck twice last week
to take his tally to three in three games for the U18 team. Although it still
wasn't enough to win the game with Fulham winning 4-3.

Billy Bodin (Swindon - striker) Got
another chance to impress in the second string game against Southampton on
Tuesday night. The Wales U19 international started up front and was heavily
involved as the Robins narrowly lost 3-2.
Tom Bradley (Bristol City - goalkeeper) + Aaron
Holloway (Bristol City - defender/midfielder) Both played their part as
the City U18 team thrashed Pompey 5-0 last weekend. Holloway had two reasons
for celebration after winning a call up to the Wales U17 squad.
Kayleden Brown (WBA - striker) Scored his
sides only goal as they drew 1-1 with Leeds in the U18 fixture at the weekend.
The Baggies went 1-0 up through Wales U19 international Brown before the
Yorkshire side struck back to claim a point.

Continued the hot streak as the young Foxes beat a star studded Arsenal 4-2 last
weekend. This was the U18's fourth win in four games this
season.
Josh Dawkin (Norwich - midfielder) Was in the
thick of it as the Canaries U18 team recorded their second home win of the
season. The U18 team beat MK Dons 2-1. Dawkin also played well and capped a
fine individual performance with a goal as the reserves lost 5-2 to
Peterborough.
Paul Dummett (Newcastle - defender) Was
introduced into the action after 13 minutes as the reserves beat Huddersfield
4-2 on Tuesday night.
Josh Knight (WBA - midfielder)
Scored twice as the Baggies reserves beat Sheffield Utd 2-1 in midweek. Knight
scored first after following up his own shot before dispatching a penalty after
he was brought down.
Liam Newman (Burnley - striker)
Struck his first of the season as the Clarets ran riot against Accrington
Stanley in the youth team fixture last Saturday. Newman struck one as Burnley
won 6-3.
Jonathan North (Watford - goalkeeper) Finally
got some game time last Friday as the Watford second string drew 1-1 with
Wycombe. This week also saw the news that he has broken his thumb and will be
out until Christmas.
Gary Preen (Southampton - midfielder)
Followed fellow Wales youth international Ryan Doble (Southampton -
midfielder) into the second string line up with an appearance against
Swindon this week. Preen came off the bench during the 3-2.
Alex
Titchiner (Crewe - striker) Struck first as the young Railwaymen drew
2-2 with a Nottingham Forest U18 team with Keiron Freeman (Nottingham Forest -
defender) in the starting XI.

Billy Bodin (Swindon - striker) Played for
the reserves this week against Swansea down at The Gnoll. The game finished 0-0
with Bodin playing 90 minutes.
Elliott Chamberlain (Leicester -
midfielder) Continued his hot streak with another goal as the Foxes
U18's thrashed Norwich 5-0 last Saturday. He was also involved with the
reserves on Tuesday night as they beat Derby 3-1.
Nathan Craig
(Everton - midfielder) Seemed to make a remarkable recovery from injury
after pulling out of the U21 international last week. Craig was on the score
sheet as the Toffees beat Sunderland U18's 3-0 on Saturday.
Paul
Dummett (Newcastle - defender) Played 90 minutes as the Newcastle U18's
turned over Man City 3-1 last weekend. Dummett was involves in the Wales U19
training camp last month.
Sam Hart (Preston - defender) Enjoyed
himself in the back four last weekend as the Lillywhites hammered Morecambe 8-0
in the U18 fixture. Hart also started in the FA Youth Cup as Preston youth beat
a Burnley side that had Jake McEneaney (Burnley -
defender) and Liam Newman (Burnley -
striker) in the starting line up in a 3-2 in a tense encounter.
Aaron Holloway (Bristol City -
defender/midfielder) Will certainly not forget his first reserve team
game of the season. The highly rated Wales U17 international played 90 minutes
as the second string lost 5-1.
Vinny Mukendi (Macclesfield - striker)
Probably wishes he could play every day after picking up a brace against a
Walsall youth team containing Sean Geddes (Walsall - midfielder). The Wales U19
training camp member scored once in the first half before grabbing a second with
a 35 yard lob in a 5-0 win.
Elliott Parrish (Aston Villa - goalkeeper)
Was this week chosen in the England U20 squad for the World Cup Tournament in
Egypt later this month.
Joe Partington (Bournemouth - midfielder)
Returned from U21 duty and went straight back to the bench over the weekend.
The midfielder then had a chance to impress again as the reserves list 2-1 on
Tuesday afternoon. The Portsmouth born youngster scored his sides only
goal.
Gary Preen (Southampton - midfielder)
Got some reserve team game time this week as the Saints beat Salisbury Town
6-1. Preen was introduced with less than half an hour to go as they cruised to
victory.
Tomos Roberts (Aston Villa - defender) And
his fellow defenders kept a clean sheet as the young Villains beat Charlton 2-0
in London last weekend. The U18 side now have 7pts from a possible 9 after
three games.
David Stephens (Norwich - defender)
Captained the reserves this week from the heart of the Canaries defence.
Stephens was partnering former Spurs centre half Gary Doherty as the cruised to
a 5-0 win against Southend. Ian Crooks second string were 4-0 up at half time,
a score line which allowed Josh Dawkin (Norwich - midfielder) to come on with 20
minutes left on the clock.
Ashton Taylor (Tranmere - defender) Was
back among the reserves this week as they beat Blackpool 1-0. After a good
start to the season Taylor will be glad of 90 minutes action after watching the
wheels come off John Barnes' senior side. He was joined in the second half by
Jack Mackreth (Tranmere - midfielder) who played 45
minutes. |

Kayleden Brown (WBA -
striker) Struck twice as the Baggies
U18's beat Charlton 3-0 last weekend. Brown bagged a double in the first half as
his side cruised to victory.
Elliott Chamberlain (Leicester -
midfielder) Kept up his fine run with
another goal as the Foxes beat Liverpool 3-0 in the Premier Academy League
Clash. Chamberlain notched his sides third and final goal with fifteen minutes
left on the clock.
Keiron Freeman (Nottingham
Forest - defender) Was back in the
youth team after an injury that kept him out of the end of last season.
Unfortunately it wasn't the best of starts for the Wales U17 international as
Forest U18's lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
Sam Hart (Preston - defender) Started at full back for the U18's last Saturday as they smashed
Carlisle 5-1. Hart was praised for getting up to support the front three by
coach Jamie Hoyland.
Aaron
Holloway (left) (Bristol City - midfielder)
Played 90 minutes as the City U18 team picked up their first three points of the
season with a 2-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday last
Saturday.
Chris Maxwell (Wrexham
- goalkeeper) Is playing for keeps now
that he has been given the number one shirt back for the Dragons after first
choice Sam Russell dislocated an elbow. The Wales U21 international will now
look to cement his place in the side while Russell
recuperates.
Vinny Mukendi
(Macclesfield - striker) Struck the
back of the net last weekend as the youth team drew 3-3 with Tranmere Rovers.
It was the Wales U19 training camp members third goal in two games after a brace
on the opening weekend against Chester City.
Joe Partington (Bournemouth - midfielder) Must have impressed for the reserves last week as the Wales
U21 international was back in the starting XI and making his first start of the
season for the clash against Crewe. It was to be a good day with the Cherries
running out 1-0 winners.
Gareth
Partridge (Shrewsbury - midfielder)
Scored his sides third and decisive goal as they beat Port Vale 3-2. He was
joined in the starting XI by Wayne Farmer (Shrewsbury
- defender).
Stephen Powell (Huddersfield -
defender) Was brought on as a make
shift striker over the weekend and struck his sides second goal in a 2-0 win
over MK Dons. It was the U18's sides first win this season in the Premier
Academy League.
Tomos Roberts
(Aston Villa - defender) And his
fellow team mates kept a clean sheet as the Villa U18's drew 0-0 with
Boro. The former Man Utd academy member was up against fellow Wales U19
training camp member, Patrick Otte
(Middlesbrough - midfielder).
David Stephens (Norwich -
defender) Was an unused sub last
Saturday as Norwich settle into League One life after the disaster start against
Colchester and the sacking of manager Bryan Gunn.
Rhys Taylor (Chelsea - goalkeeper) Was back between the sticks for the reserves this week as
he returns slowly from injury. The Wales U21 international played 90 minutes as
the Blues reserves beat Pompey 5-2.
Sanchez Watt (Arsenal - striker) Scored twice as the Gunners thrashed Birmingham 4-0 in a second
string game this week. It's probably pointless me writing about Watt at the
moment due to the fact that he wants to play for Three Lions, but you never
know. Sanchez Watt….we can stop talking about him. He has been chosen for the
England U19's for a friendly v Russia on September the 8th.
Sam Wedgbury (Sheffield Utd/Ferencvaros -
midfielder) Continues to get regular
game time in the Hungarian league with two starts last week. Wedgbury as
explained at the start of the season will return to Bramall Lane in January
as the club assess whether he is ready to stay and fight for a first team
spot.
James Wilson (right)
(Bristol
City/Brentford - defender)
Played 90 mins against Oldham
at the weekend, putting in an impressive display. City and Brentford have now
agreed to allow Wilson to stay on loan until
January..
