Young guns news - Sunday 29 Apr 12 - Monthly update

Wes Burns (Bristol City - midfielder) & Aaron Amadi-Holloway (Bristol City - defender/midfielder/striker) Made appearances from the bench for the reserves as they beat Exeter City 4-2.

Jake Cassidy (Wolves/Tranmere - striker) Has signed on with Tranmere until the end of the season after impressing Rovers boss Ronnie Moore. He also had a very Good Friday, scoring twice as his side beat Stevenage 3-0. "Jake has done really well for us in the time he has been here so I'm pleased to be able to keep him for the rest of the season," Ronnie Moore

Jordan Cranston (Wolves - defender) Played another 90 minutes as the reserves picked up a 3-2 win over Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

Michael Doughty (QPR - midfielder) Skippered the reserves to a 1-0 win against an experienced Spurs side this week. Huws (Man City - midfielder) Scored his sides third goal as a City's Elite development side beat Stoke City 4-1 in midweek in the Central league Cup.

Gethin Jones (Everton - midfieler) Picked up a start for the U18's as the Tofeemen lost 1-0 to Leeds last Saturday.

James Loveridge (Swansea City - striker) Scored the winner as the youth team beat TNS in the FAW Youth Cup over the weekend.

Alex Nicholson (Newcastle - defender) Played 90 minutes as the 18's beat Barnsley 1-0 and secured the Premier League Academy Group D title last Saturday. The Geordies are now clear at the top of Premier Academy Group D. The Wales U17 international also started at right back for the reserves in a 2-1 win against Liverpool this week.

Richard Peniket (Fulham/Hereford - striker) Made another start for the first team as they lost 1-0 to Rotherham last weekend. Peniket played the full 90 minutes in the narrow defeat. He also played 73 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Plymouth on Good Friday.

Josh Pritchard (Fulham - midfielder) Played 90 minutes as the reserves drew 0-0 with Blackburn on Monday night.

Will Roberts (Coventry City - midfielder/winger) Will Roberts has been given a first team squad number, Roberts, who joined Coventry from Wrexham nearly two years ago, has been given the number 38. During the last couple of weeks he has appeared for Coventry City's first team.

Mason Spence (MK Dons - defender) Scored a brace against West Ham U18's last weeeknd. The U18's ran out 4-2 winenrs with the young defender was playing in a more advanced position.

Scott Tancock (Swansea City - defender) Started for the reserves as they faces Everton this week. The game finished 1-1 with several youth team players getting senior game time. Her also picked up his sides first goal in the FAW Youth Cup Final victory over TNS. Tancock also joins Henry Jones (Swansea City - defender) & James Loveridge (Swansea City - striker) in signing professional at the club.
