Berger og 18 -

An own goal by Austrian defender Markus Berger gave Brian Flynn his first win as U-21 manager.

The unfortunate Berger diverted a Craig Morgan header into the back of the net after 18 minutes. On a very uneven Penydarren Park pitch both sides struggled to control the ball and clear-cut chances were few and far between.

In the second half Wales came close to doubling their advantage as good efforts by Craig Morgan, Arron Davies and the impressive Craig Davies were well saved by the Austrian goalkeeper Ozcan.

"
We could have had more and we made their keeper work hard and make several good saves to keep the score down. " - Brian Flynn.
