Welsh Football Young Guns update news - by Owain Jones.
Young guns news - Sunday 30th April 2006.

Gareth Bale (Southampton - defender)
Played for the reserves this week after being taken out of the first team for last weekends game against Crystal Palace.  The Cardiff born defender who looks likely to be included in the next U21 squad was replaced after 75 minutes by Kyle Critchell (Southampton - defender) as the Saints ran out 2-0 winners against Norwich.

Grant Basey (Charlton - defender) Played twice for the reserves this week as he the U17 international cemented himself as a regular second string performer as the season comes to it's climax.  The young defender started Monday as the Addicks drew 0-0 with Watford and on Wednesday and played 68 minutes of the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.  The Palace side contained.

Rhoys Wiggins (Crystal Palace - defender).  Basey a London born full back has now managed to get a string of reserve team appearances under his belt now and will look to be involved with the U19 team when they travel to the Milk Cup this summer.

Simon Church (Reading - midfielder) Again got 90 minutes under his belt as the impressive Reading second string stormed to a 3-0 win over Gillingham in their final fixture of the season.  It was a double celebration for Church as he scored his sides last goal in the U18's 5-2 thrashing of Charlton last Saturday.  The Welsh qualified midfielder has been in very impressive form of late and is another who might be a dark horse for the Milk Cup in the summer.

Matthew Collins' (Fulham - midfielder) Treatment with his hamstring injury continues to progress. There are no more Reserve games this season and as a consequence the focus is on preparing him for the off-season and to consolidate his progress ready for next season.

Andrew Crofts (Gillingham - midfielder) Scored with an outstanding volley to score his sides third goal against Yeovil last Saturday.  Unfortunately his side conceded four in the other end as his side lost 4-3.  One of the Glovers goal scorers was Arron Davies (Yeovil - striker) who netted his sides fourth and three point clinching goal.

Michael Chedwyn Evans (Man City - striker) Started as the City youth team came very close to pulling off the impossible and clawing back a 3-0 deficit to beat Liverpool U18's in the FA Youth Cup semi-final second leg.  Evans managed to get himself an assist with a flick on to set up Daniel Sturridge for his sides second goal.  The St Asaph born youngster was joined in the squad by Scott Evans (Man City - midfielder) who was on the bench.

Jamal Easter (Cardiff - striker) Struck his sides only goal of the game in the reserve team encounter with Swindon this week.  The U21 international bagged a consolation strike seven minutes from time, firing past the goalkeeper from inside the area.  The Swindon squad included Tom Evans (Swindon - defender) who made a second half substitute appearance with 20 minutes to go.

Peter Ferris (Carlisle - striker) Held off a defender to strike his sides winner as the Carlisle reserve team beat Burnley 1-0 on Monday night.  The Wales U19 international notched the only goal of the game in the first half as his side shaded a tight fought encounter.

James Frayne (Liverpool - striker) Played for a young Wolves reserve side against Blackburn this week after being released by the Reds.  The nephew of former Anfield stopper David James, failed to strike but was very busy in a game which finished in a stalemate.  It now remains to be seen whether the former Mellwood academy will be invited back to Molineux for another outing.

Gavin Hurren (Kidderminster - defender) The former Nottinghm Forest academy defender has extended his deal with the club.  Hurren, who joined The Conference club last year following his release from The City Ground's youth academy, is delighted to have signed a new one-year deal with manager Mark Yates.
"He has given me a chance to prove myself and I'm very grateful for that," Gavin Hurren.

Lloyd James (Southampton - midfielder) Won and converted a penalty as the Saints U18 team put their season back on track with a 4-0 win over Coventry.  James was joined in the starting XI by Kyle Critchell (Southampton - defender) who put in a fine performance as he finds his form after a long injury lay off.

Gerwyn Jones (Tranmere - defender) Following captaining Wales schoolboys to a 2-0 win over Slovakia last week, the Caernarfon based youngster, just turned 15, has secured a scholarship 12 months early. it is understood that the youngster has attracted the attention of Premier League clubs.

Matthew Wells (Spurs - midfielder) Was included in the reserve team squad for the game against Coventry on Thursday night.  Although the young midfielder was not called into duty and was an unused sub as the London club finished the season with a 3-1 win away at the Sky Blues.

Karl Yelland (QPR - defender) Put in a solid performance in a very impressive back four last weekend.  Yelland the former Wales U17 international as his fellow defender proved a formidable shield as the young Rangers kept a clean sheet and moved into touching distance of the runners up spot in the league after a 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Young guns news - Sunday 23rd April 2006.

Gareth Bale (Southampton - defender) Made his St Marys debut on Easter Monday as was part of the Saints back line that kept a clean sheet against a Millwall side that tasted relegation the very same afternoon.  The Wales U21 international became the second youngest ever Saint after David McGoldrick and realised instantly that he wanted to taste first team action again very soon. "This had really whetted my appetite for more.  It has given me a taste and I want more." Gareth Bale.

Grant Basey (Charlton - defender) Started once again for the reserves this week against Watford.  And it was former Wales U17 international Basey and his reserve team that came out on top as the Addicks kept a clean sheet to beat Watford 2-0.

Darcy Blake (Cardiff - midfielder) Made a first team appearance on Easter Monday as Dave Jones looks to youth in preparation for next season.  The Tredegar born got on for the last few minutes as the Bluebirds drew 1-1 with Crewe to send the Gresty Road outfit down into Division One.

Kyle Critchell (Southampton - defender) Returned to reserve team action this week as he makes steady progress from his knee injury.  The Wales U21 international who could well feature in the May play offs got 90 minutes of game time without really being troubled as he along with Lloyd James (Southampton - midfielder/defender) marshaled the Saints defence to a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Chelsea.

David Edwards (Shrewsbury - midfielder) Looks like he is out of the U21 play off games in May after suffering a nasty ankle sprain which may rule him out for around 6 weeks.  The midfielder was carried off after sustaining the injury following a late challenge in the game against Grimsby. "It's a blow for Dave as he was hoping to be involved in the Welsh U21's but this time he can't say it's my fault he can't make it." Rachel Greenley, Shrewsbury physio.

Peter Ferris (Carlisle - striker) Struck from the penalty spot as the Carlisle youth team notched up a hard fought win against Chester last weekend.  The former Wales U19 international claimed the only goal of the game as he works himself up to full fitness after a knee injury.

Stuart Fleetwood (Hereford - striker) Struck last Saturday as Hereford look to prolong the season with a play offs decider to gain access to the football league.  With a prolonged run of first team football we may yet see the best of Fleetwood, and also back in full time football at the first attempt.

Russell Fry (Hull - midfielder) Was an unused substitute last Monday as the Tigers drew 1-1 after a dubious penalty decision gave Derby a share of the spoils. I hope he may now a get a chance of first team action to show what he can do, with relegation now sorted in the Championship.

Levi Mackin (Wrexham - midfielder) + Mike Williams (Wrexham - striker) Got on the scoresheet as the Reds reserves notched up their first win in 9 months.  The Reds beat Shrewsbury 3-0 with Williams notching one with a header striking a shot that gave the keeper no chance.

Owain Warlow (Lincoln - midfielder) Played for the reserves this week as they drew 2-2 with Doncaster this week.  The former Rhydfelen pupil got 90 minutes under his belt as the Red Imps grabbed a point.

Dale Williams (Yeovil - striker) Scored again as Yeovil Youth won 2-1 away to Exeter City.  The Wales U19 international  scored with a low curling free kick from just outside the box. With the striker being in such a rich vein of form it came as no surprise when he was told that he was in the travelling squad for the game v Notts Forest on Easter Monday.

Karl Yelland (QPR - defender) Put in another impressive performance as the second string drew 1-1 with Millwall.  The young Rangers XI put in a solid performance as they all look to catch the managers eye in readiness for next seasons preparations.

Young guns news - Sunday 16th April 2006.

Gareth Bale (Southampton - defender) Is likely to make his first team appearance and become the youngest Saint in the clubs history over the Easter Weekend after Danny Higginbottom was ruled out for the rest of the season.  The Wales U21 international at 16 years and 273 days will beat the record set by academy team mate David McGoldrick.  "It has come sooner than I thought it would and it would be fantastic if I did figure at some point over the next couple of games.  I am more excited than nervous at the moment but I guess there might be a few butterflies before kick off if I play." Gareth Bale.

Grant Basey (Charlton - defender) Was once again involved with the reserves this week as they as they entertained Leicester at The Valley.  And it was to be a reserve team debut for first year scholar Basey, after an injury in the first half meant that the former Wales U17 international was on the field after only 40 minutes.  The game finished 1-1 with Basey giving a solid account of himself at left back.  The Leicester starting XI contained former Wales U16 international Liam Norval (defender) who was sent off at the weekend for the U18 side.

Ramon Calliste (Liverpool - striker) Ended a barren spell by notching both his sides goals in a 2-1 win over Blackburn reserves last Tuesday.  The U21 hit man got his sides first goal on 24 minutes as he capitalised on a mistake to round the goalkeeper before slotting home and his second and seventh goal of the season came after being sent through by a team mate.  With the end of his year long association with the Merseyside club due to come to an end soon, it seems that Calliste is at a cross roads in his career.  With the need for senior game time becoming greater and greater it remains to see whether he will be offered an extended contract at Anfield or whether he will decide he needs to fall down the leagues to find regular action.

David Cotterill (Bristol City - striker) Returned to form with a bang at the weekend with a goal and an assist as he terrorised the the Walsall defence at the Bescot stadium.  The full international will now hope to keep his place after getting the nod after an injury to Steve Brooker.

Kyle Critchell (Southampton - defender) Returned to boost the Welsh contingent in the U18 team at the weekend.  The Wales U21 international who has bounced back from a very serious injury got 45 minutes under his belt as his side lost 1-0 to Spurs.  He made his appearance in the second half to join regular starter Gareth Bale (defender) and captain Lloyd James (midfielder).  Critchell will now look to start in this weekends U18 clash with the MK Dons, because it seems increasingly likely that youth will get it's turn under Geroge Burley after the club secured Championship survival.

Ryan Crockford (Reading/Aldershot - midfielder) Didn't quite have the best start to his loan spell at Non-league level as his side crashed 3-1 to Cambridge.  The former Wales U17 squad member is on loan at the club with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season.

Sean Eardley (Oldham - defender) Has been forced to retire after doctors advised him that his heart would not be strong enough to deal with the rigours of being a pro-footballer after he was diagnosed with a heart condition known as arvc.  We wish Sean all the best with his scholarship in Washington as he looks to the next step in his career in football.  The Eardley name will still be a part of the club with 17 year old brother Neal Eardley (defender) playing for the youth and reserve team.

Michael Chedwyn Evans (Man City - striker) Was given a good report along with the rest of the City Academy striker on the eve of the FA Youth Cup Final by Academy coach Alex Gibson "Daniel Sturridge, Kelvin Etuhu and Ched Evans are all very promising strikers. But our success is based on the team, not one or two players."

Russell Fry (Hull - midfielder) Got the only goal of the game with 11 minutes remaining as the reserves beat Doncaster 1-0 on Tuesday evening.  The former Wales U16 international followed in a shot to slam the ball home to clinch all three points for his side.  It was thought that Fry would be pushing for a first team spot this season after making the break through but things haven't quite worked out for him under Peter Taylor.  With the Estonian play off games on in May, it would be handy to have as many senior players available for duty, and that would actually have to mean that Fry nailed his colours to one international mast on another.

James Owen (Chester - midfield) Newly turned fifteen year old James today made his debut in a very young Chester City reserves squad.  He came on for the last fifteen minutes in a game where Chester lost by a solitary goal to a Bury team bolstered by five pro players. Reserve team manager Jim Hackett said later that he
was extremely pleased with James, who has been a regular in the youth team since Christmas, and that he was in the reserve team on merit rather than circumstance.

Dean Grubb (Bristol City - midfielder) Who is in the middle of rehab at Lilleshall after breaking his leg earlier in the season in a derby game against Bristol Rovers could well be the seventh academy member to sign a professional contract at Ashton Gate.  The club are hoping that the Wales U19 international will sign the contract before disappearing for the summer. "Dean is one of seven we've offered contracts to and I'm sure he will sign up before going away for the summer." Tony Fawthrop, Academy Manager

Dylan Hughes (RKC Waalwijk - striker) Has signed a contract for two years with the Dutch club after impressing during a trial in March.  The 21 year old Canadian joins from German Regionalliga side Jahn Regensburg.

Joe Jacobsen (Cardiff - defender) Scored the equaliser with a looping header as the Bluebirds second string halted a losing streak with a draw against Yeovil in midweek.  Jacobsen like many of the potential young starlets that Brian Flynn has at his disposal will now cast an eye to the U21 play off double header in May.

Michael Johnston (Tranmere - defender) Put in a fine individual performance but could not prevent his side from slipping to a 2-1 defeat in the Youth Alliance League Cup North Final on Wednesday night.  The Preston team contained former U17 international Liam Maloney (midfielder).

Kyle Letheran (Bradford - goalkeeper)
Got another run out for the Bantam reserve team this week as they drew 2-2 with Rotherham.  The Wales U19 international was due to play for Port Talbot in last weeks Welsh Cup semi-final but failed to appear due to registration problems.

Michael Pearson (Oldham - midfielder) Has been offered a one year professional contract at Boundary Park.  The Bangor born midfielder has been a regular for the reserves this season and will look forward to a pre-season with the seniors and a chance to stake a claim for the first team squad place.  He was also a starter for the table topping reserves this week against Barnsley as the Latics lost 1-0.  He was joined in the squad by Neal Eardley (defender) who also got 90 minutes under his belt.

Lewis Powell (Bristol Rovers - striker) Got two assists in a very impressive performance against Swindon U18's last weekend.  Powell the ex Swan set up his sides two goals as they rallied from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

Matthew Wells (Spurs - midfielder) Came out on top as the Spurs U18 team beat a strong Southampton side 1-0, to inflict only their fourth defeat of the season.  He was joined in the side in the second half by Welsh qualified striker David Hutton who qualifies through a Grandmother from Ogmore but has played his representative football for the Republic of Ireland of late.

Rhoys Wiggins (Crystal Palace - defender) Was once again a starter for Kit Symons' reserve team this week as they took on a fresh faced Chelsea XI.  But an early Blues goal condemned the Eagles to a loss as Wiggins got another senior game under bis belt.

Dale Williams (Yeovil - striker) Sored yet again in Yeovil U18's 4-0 win home to Plymouth.  Unfortunately Dale was stretched off after 25 minutes when he suffered an ankle injury due to pot hole on the pitch.this leaves Yeovil Youth top of division and in a excellent chance of winning the league.  The Wales U19 international also got a run out in the unfamiliar position of left back for the reserves this week.

Dylan Williams (Shrewsbury - striker) Came off the subs bench to strike his sides clinching goal against Wigan last weekend.  The striker got in front of the full back before slotting in the second goal in a 2-0 win.

James Wilson (Bristol City - defender) Has been celebrating his first professional contract this week after signing on at Ashton Gate for the next three years.  The classy full back has been making waves of late with Premiership clubs such as Everton and Spurs sending scouts regularly to watch him play.  It seems that other regular U18 and reserve team players Griff Jones (defender) and keeper Sam Pearce are surplus to requirements.

Young guns news - Sunday 9th April 2006.

Gareth Bale (Southampton - defender) + Lloyd James (Southampton - midfielder) Were again deployed in defence with with the move throwing up the same result as the reserves beat Leicester 3-1.  Both have proved to be very adaptable of late as the club looks to find the best position for the pair.  The Foxes starting XI contained Liam Norval (Leicester - defender).

Grant Basey (Charlton - defender)
Made his first appearance of the season for the reserve team squad this week.  The former Wales U17 international showed how far he has come by being promoted to bench duty as the Addicks beat Ipswich with two goals past Lewis Price (Ipswich - goalkeeper) who must be sweating on his starting place in the Wales team with Shane Supple playing superbly for the Tractor boys senior team and Paul Jones having an Indian summer to his career.

Simon Church (Reading - midfielder) Shone in his wing position as they cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win over Crawley on Wednesday evening.  The match report has Church skipping past defenders at will as he tormented the home defence as they Royals clinched the Pontins Holiday Combination league.

Matthew Collins (Fulham - midfielder) Has been consulting with a specialist physiotherapist regarding his hamstring and his progression has been excellent. The club hope over the next two to three weeks he will be at a stage where he can do more football-based work.

Kyle Critchell (Southampton - defender) Is on the verge of a return to match action after 18 months out of the game with a knee injury, which will come as very welcome news to Brian Flynn. The Wales U21 international has been back in full training since March and may play at the weekend against Spurs."I don't think there are many players that would have come back from this sort of injury as quickly as he has.  What you have to remember is that when Kyle got injured in the summer he was very much a part of the first team squad and that is the target he has set himself to get back to." Mo Gimpel, academy physio.

Adam Davies (Cambridge - defender) Made a return to the starting line up over the weekend as manager Rob Newman tried to stop his side from leaking goals.  The game finished 2-2 with Newman pleased with the way his young charges had coped.  Unfortunately his week took a nasty turn after catching a ball and a boot smack on the throat which left him with breathing difficulties and some broken teeth in the 2-1 win over Exeter.  He will not be able to return to training until he has had a full check up and the green light from the neurosurgeon next week.

Neal Eardley (Oldham - defender) Got an assist to his name as the Oldham youth team thrashed Burnley 4-1 at the weekend.  The St Asaph born defender put in a wicked cross which his team mate dispatched to put the game to bed.  He also got a run out alongside Bangor born Michael Pearson (defender) in a very young reserve team.  In an entertaining game Pearson played in midfield with Eardley getting 90 minutes in defence as the Latics drew 1-1 with Huddersfield.

Michael Chedwyn Evans (Man City - midfielder) The St Asaph born City academy member was an unused sub this week as the Blue half of Manchester were humbled by rivals Utd in a mini reserve team derby.  The midfielder will surely have been slightly miffed not to get on as his side plummeted to a 6-0 defeat.

Tom Evans (Swindon - defender) Broke into the starting XI for the game against Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon and put in a solid performance as his side cruised to a 4-0 win.  Evans played the full 90 minutes as he and his fellow defenders snuffed out all dangers to keep a clean sheet.

Wayne Hennessey (Wolves - goalkeeper) Made his way back into the reserve team squad for the first team for a long while after seeing his season disturbed by a knee injury.  The U21 international was an unused sub, but will be glad of the chance to be back in senior football and will now surely have his sights firmly on making the squad for the play offs with Estonia.

Josh Klein-Davis (Bristol City - striker) + James Wilson (Bristol City - defender) Travelled back from international duty to play 90 minutes for the reserves as they beat Swansea 1-0 last Monday.  Davis also hit the bar with a cross come shot as the Robins held on to a single goal cushion.  It has been rumoured this week that another Premiership club in the shape of Spurs are keeping an eye on Wilson as the U17 international continues to create waves with some very accomplished performances.

Peter Ferris (Carlisle - striker) Got back to doing what he does best last weekend with a goal as the Carlisle youth team beat Wigan 2-1.  The former Wales U19 striker broke clear and out sprinted the home defence before sliding the ball under the keeper from 8 yards.

Lewis Guy (Doncaster - striker) Scored his sides third goal as they beat struggling Rotherham 3-1 last Saturday.  The former Wales U16 international collected the ball on the left side of goal before slotting home past the keeper.

Kyle Letheran (Unnatached - goalkeeper) Was on trial this week with Bradford after being released by Swansea City.  The keeper played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet as the Bantams ran out 4-0 winners against Walsall.  He was joined in the second half by U17 international Damian Hopkins (Bradford - defender).  The Saddlers XI contained impressive U19 international midfielder Mark Bradley.

Mark Jones (Cardiff - midfielder) Struck a hat trick with Scott McCoubrey (Cardiff - striker) and Kyle Bassett (Cardiff - striker) weighing in with two and one goal respectively as the Cardiff youth team ran riot against Grange Quins in the FAW Youth Cup this week.  McCoubrey is the top scorer in the Academy league for the Bluebirds this season.

Lewis Powell (Bristol Rovers - striker) Scored a 90th minute penalty as the Pirates boarded and stole three points on home soil from a Cardiff City second string containing Wales youth team starlets.  Powell the former Swan scored from the spot to get his sides second goal of the afternoon.

Jamie Price (Birmingham - midfielder) Got on for 30 minutes at the end of the reserve team game against Liverpool this week.  Price has played the last two reserve team games in the centre of the park for the Blues and will now look to next season so he can push on his career and break through and into the Wales U21 team.

Marc Williams (Wrexham - striker) Kept up his impressive development with a goal within fifteen minutes of his sides 2-1 win over Blackpool.  The Wales U21 international latched on to a through ball and fired in to grab his sides first goal as a strong Wrexham second string beat the seasiders.  He was joined in the side by his brother Mike Williams (defender) who is also an U21 international.

Karl Yelland (QPR - defender) Played the full 90 minutes as a very young Rangers side drew 1-1 with Brighton this week.  The former Wales U17 international has been involved with the reserves for most of the season and will be pleased with how life is going at Loftus Road who was released by Southampton earlier in his career.

Young guns news - Sunday 2nd April 2006.

Gareth Bale (Southampton - defender)
Flew back in from U17 duty to line up alongside Lloyd James (Southampton - midfielder) as they took on Arsenal reserves this week.  The U17 international was part of the back four which saw him line up at left back and the adaptable Lloyd James at right back.  The night didn't contain much to trouble the two as the Saints ran out 5-2 winners against the Gunners.

Mark Bradley (Walsall - midfielder) Unleashed an unstoppable drive past the Millers keeper to score his sides first goal in a commanding 4-1 this week.  The Wales U19 international skipped past his marker before smashing the ball home to open the scoring.  The Millers bench contained reserve team regular Ben Vangucci (defender) who was unused.

Steven Cann (Derby - goalkeeper) Has been offered a pro-contract at Pride Park after impressing for the youth team this year.  The Wales U19 international can now look forward to a good summer with the first team squad as they prepare for the 2006/07 season.  It was not to be such good news for some of the other Welsh qualified second year scholars with Jo Arnold (Derby - striker) and Mitch Booth (Derby - midfielder) released by the club.

Joe Carter-Harris (Portsmouth - striker) Was an unused sub on Tuesday night as the Pompey reserves slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Fulham.  The young striker who qualifies for Wales through a Welsh grandfather has been on the fringes of the second string all season without quite making the break through.

Simon Church (Reading - striker) Got a second successive start for the reserves this week as they Royals looked not only to clinch the Championship title, but also the Pontins League crown as well.  And it was to be a sumptuous evening for the Royals as they thumped Woking 9-0 with right winger Church getting a 65 minute work out and creating all manner of problems for the defenders.

Russell Fry (Hull - midfielder) + Owain Warlow (Lincoln - midfielder) Came head to head this week as the Tigers clashed with the Red Imps in a reserve team encounter.  Both were in the thick of the action and both having shots saved in the first half of a game which finished in a 2-2 stalemate.

Callum Hart (Bournemouth - defender) Returned to training this week after damaging his hamstring in the game against Yeovil.

David Jones (Man Utd/NEC Jijmegen) Hopes that his form for NEC will be enough to make Sir Alex bring him home next season.  If it's not, the Welsh qualified midfielder is happy enough to stay on in Holland and get regular football under his belt.  Jones has been a big hit in Holland, scoring six goals in thirteen games. "Personally, I hope to return to Manchester United,  I have the feeling I am ready for The Premiership.  I don't want to play for a team in a lower English division.  If I get the guarantee from Sir Alex Ferguson that I will get a serious chance, I want to return.  If not, I would like to stay at NEC." David Jones.

Griff Jones (Bristol City - defender) + Sam Pearce (Bristol City - goalkeeper) Provided inspired performances as the City U18 team beat Cardiff 3-0 at the weekend.  Both sides were severely weakened by the loss of their U17 internationals, but it was Bristol City who came out on top with Pearce in particular proving impossible to breakdown.

Liam Maloney (Preston - midfielder) Started for the reserves this week as they travelled North to Carlisle.  It was to be a stalemate on the night with both sides failing to conjure up the goal to spark proceedings, with Maloney getting a full 90 minutes of action.  The Carlisle bench included striker Peter Ferris who is getting in a steady stream of games as he works up his fitness after a nasty knee injury.

Jamie Price (Birmingham - midfielder) Was another Wales U19 international to get a reserve team appearance under his belt this week.  Price who was starting for the second time in a row, played the full 90 minutes as the Blues crashed 2-0 against Leeds.

Matthew Wells (Spurs - defender) Made a goal scoring return from injury at the weekend, but it was not to be enough to save his side from defeat to Leicester U18's last Saturday.  The former Wales U17 training camp member caught the ball on the volley to make the score 2-1, but his side couldn't hold on.

Dale Williams (Yeovil - striker) Took his goals tally to a very impressive 12 goals from 12 games this week, after notching another in the U18 game versus Hereford at the weekend.  Unfortunately for Williams, the Shrewsbury reserve game was cancelled due to the weather last Monday and the U19 striker couldn't get another opportunity to impress manager Gary Peters.
