    Ryan Bevan (Swansea City)
A second-year scholar at Swansea, Ryan has played in a large majority of the club’s U-18 team games during the last season and a half and will most likely continue to do so in the remaining few months of his time as a youth player. He has of late been involved with the U-23 team games and this scenario will also most likely occur in the coming weeks as well. Ryan has built up a good resume of achievements to this point of his young career, the quality of his ability being also complemented with leadership skills, as he has captained the U-18 team on numerous times this season. Added to this are his selections to represent Wales several times, doing so initially as a schoolboy and then continuing on later when performing as an U-17 international player. As the time moves on toward the end of the season and the completion of the period as a scholar, he will be hoping that his efforts will have impressed enough for him to retain his association with Swansea. For this to be the case, he will need to be offered terms as a professional and move on to become a fulltime member of the U-23 development squad at the club.

    Luke Jephcott (Plymouth Argyle)
Although Luke had been previously involved in training camps as a schoolboy, his first opportunity to represent Wales did not occur until last season. He was by this time a first-year professional at the Pilgrims, having done well enough, particularly so in his second year as a scholar at the club to convince management of his potential to become a first team player. Selected for last season’s national U-19 squad, he was one of the players who made significant contributions as the team successfully negotiated progress from the preliminary group stage matches and contested in the elite group matches later in the season.  Very soon after Luke made his first team debut and continued involvement with the team quite a few times as the season progressed. Although there had been injury issues in the early season, it had been a bit surprising that his name had been missing from all first team games until very recently. Allowed to go on loan to get some first team football, good performances led to a recall and selection to start in the first team’s initial game of the new year. Good goal scoring form whilst at Truro City was a contributory reason for doing so and he continued those exploits with two goals in good win for the team and then did likewise in the next one. Hopefully, he can continue to be a first team regular in the coming weeks. Good performances, particularly so if he continues scoring, will surely make him a contender for inclusion in the U-21 squad that will be selected for their matches in a few weeks.

    Sam Parsons (Cardiff City)
Sam has been an important member of Cardiff’s U-18 team this season and has played in all but one of their games. This continues an association he has had with this level of football at the club for quite a few seasons. A brief introduction as a young schoolboy was followed with appearances in a dozen or so games whilst still in that status the next season. He signed on with the club as a first-year scholar last season and continued playing fairly regularly for the team. His aim will be to persuade the coaching staff that he is worthy of being offered a professional contract as he comes to the completion of his time as a scholar in a few more weeks. There may well be some instances that he plays for the U-23 team as the season progresses, this being used as an evaluation process by management. Sam’s involvement with Wales teams occurred when he was called up for the U-17 squad a couple of seasons ago.

    Adam Przybek (Ipswich Town)
After being in the Wales squad as a young schoolboy, Adam was recruited and selected for their English counterparts, playing in one game for them the following season. There was however a return to the Wales camp after that time and he has played both U-17 and U-19 international football for the nation, continuing this season when regularly selected for the U-21 squad. As a youngster, Adam was affiliated with West Bromwich Albion signing on as a scholar with them at the completion of his time at school. He did well enough when playing for the club’s U-18 team to be offered a professional contract for the 2018/19 season as his time of youth eligibility expired. At the end of last season, West Brom decided against a contract extension and Ipswich quickly acquired his signature to play for them. He has played regularly for the U-23 team this season and has been in the first team squad for one game when on the bench for an FA Cup replay tie. His aim will be to play in a first team match and add further appearances once he has done so, the move to the East Anglia surroundings will hopefully prove to be a positive step toward attaining that goal. Wales fans will certainly be very pleased should such circumstances become the eventual successful outcome.
