    The Cookie roadshow.

    Wales manager Chris Coleman visited CPD Porthmadog on Thursday 13th March 2014 as part of the FAW roadshow.

    With the clubhouse at The Traeth full, FAW Head of Communications Ian Gwyn Hughes started proceedings. The first part of the show was a Q&A session with IGH and Coleman.

    Coleman touched on Euro 2016 and qualification hopes, stressed the importance players availability and Gareth Bale. How his plan was now in place with the squad being fully focused on getting Wales to France in 2016. He touched on the matches that had been played at the end of the last campaign, and how he and the squad had learnt so much since last September.

    He was then asked about players he had played with and against, his club managerial career, with a few funny stories told about his chairman and another Premiership manager.

    Coleman then broke off to take photos and sign shirts with supporters.

    The floor was then opened for questions from the audience.

    Touched upon were playing full internationals at the Racecourse, his opinion on Cardiff City and Vincent Tan, The importance of Bale, Would Bellamy be joining the Wales coaching staff – Answer = NO. The future stars making the breakthrough, Wilson and Huws, and his £2m salary to manage Port.

    To finish off he touched the importance of playing quality nations in friendly matches, with Holland the only planned match now ahead of the first qualifier against Andorra in September.

    The only national team manager to meet the fans.

    Roll on Euro 2016, described by Ian Gwyn Hughes as “One of the best we’ve had.”
