    Young Guns: Weekly update - Monday 19th November

    Wes Burns (Bristol City - striker) Scored a brace as the U18's beat Brentford 2-0 last weekend.  The game also marked the appearance for Joe Morrell (Bristol City - midfielder) at a higher age grade.  Burns struck the first goal after good work by Miles John (Bristol City - midfielder) and Morrell.  Burns kept up his hot streak with a brace as the development side beat Colchester 5-1 on Tuesday. 


    Jordan Cranston (Wolves - defender) Played another 90 minutes for the U21's as they drew 0-0 with Boro last Friday night.

    Jordan Evans (Fulham - midfielder) Picked up two assists as the U18'a beat Man City 4-1 last weekend.  He was joined in the starting XI by George Williams (Fulham - striker).

    Adam Henley (Blackburn - defender) Started his third game in a row as Rovers drew 1-1 with Birmingham.  Henley is back in the starting line up as the club starts life under new manager Henning Berg.  

    Emyr Huws (Man City/Northampton - midfielder) Played another 90 minutes and picked up an assist as the Cobblers beat Accrington Stanley 4-2 last Saturday.

    Tom Lawrence (Man Utd - midfielder) Made an impact as a second half sub as the U21's beat Newcastle 2-1 on Monday night.  Lawrence scored the winner from close range.  "He suffered a lot of injuries last year but I'm sure he will build from that and have a really good second half of the season." Warren Joyce, U21 coach.

    Aaron Phillips (Coventry - defender) Put in a fine shift as captain for the U21's as they beat Birmingham 2-1 this week.  He was joined in the starting XI by Will Roberts (Coventry - midfielder).

    Louis Thompson (Swindon - midfielder) Made another appearance for the seniors after coming on as a second half sub in the 2-0 win at Walsall.  Thompson joined his brother Nathan Thompson (Swindon - defender) on the field.
