The Glyndŵr University Racecourse Stadium will host Wales U21’s next Euro 2013 qualifying game and fans can get in for free.

The game against Andorra, the third U21s game at the stadium since Glyndŵr University took over ownership of the ground, will kick off at 4pm on Wednesday 29 February 2012.

Fans will be able to watch the game for free but need to pick up a ticket in advance. Only the Mold Road Stand will be open for the game.

Professor Michael Scott, Vice-Chancellor of Glyndŵr University, said: “We bought the stadium as a facility for the community and we’re delighted to be able to open it up to the people of Wrexham for major events such as this. We want as many groups as possible to attend families, schools, football supporters to get behind the next generation of Welsh football stars as they compete for a place in the 2013 European Championships.”

The game will precede the Welsh senior team’s Gary Speed Memorial Match against Costa Rica, which kicks off at 7.45pm in Cardiff on the same day.

A spokesperson for the Football Association of Wales said: “It had been hoped to move the game by 24 hours so that there would not be a clash with the senior international v Costa Rica in Cardiff. After consultation with UEFA, it has not been possible to do this. Therefore, an earlier kick off has been agreed to at least allow fans to go to the Under 21 match and then view the senior match on TV later that evening.”

School groups will be able to obtain tickets for the game through the Racecourse Community Foundation on 01978 296397.

Football clubs and teams should direct enquiries through Mark Roberts the FAW Trusts Football Development Officer on mark.roberts@welshfootballtrust.org.uk

Corporate boxes, including a buffet, are available for £100 and can take a maximum of 10 guests. Businesses or groups interested in taking up the offer should email Phil Bennett at p.bennett@glyndwr.ac.uk

Tickets are available by calling into the Glyndŵr University Sports Centre reception between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday or by calling 01978 293275.
