FAW: Kick back scheme Friday 11th March 2011
|

CLUBS KICK BACK
Many football clubs around Wales are benefiting from the Football Association of Wales 'Kick Back' scheme, where they are able to receive commission from tickets sold.
Some 600 clubs around Wales have been involved and this week, Wales manager, Gary Speed presented a cheque to Karen Stevens and members of the Canton Cross Vaults Football team in Cardiff for their commission.
The monies raised (more than £250) will help to pay for ground fees for the rest of the season. Other clubs are using the funds for equipment and maintenance work at their clubhouses or grounds.
Karen said: "This really has been a great initiative as we have been able to buy tickets and help support our own club at the same time."

FAW: Wales v England ticketing statement Tuesday 8th March 2011
|

Wales v England.
The Football Association of Wales would like to take the opportunity to clarify several misconceptions that have appeared in the media in regard to ticket sales for the Wales v England European Championship match at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on 26th March 2011.
The original deadline for ticket applications for the match was 31st January 2011. All applications received by this date were processed and more than 600 football clubs in Wales took part in the sales through the ‘Kick-Back’ scheme, that has raised some £80,000 for the clubs, many at grass-roots level.
The deadline was then extended to 18th February 2011 on the understanding that this was a ‘first come, first served’ basis and subject to availability. The demand was such that the tickets did, in fact, sell-out by early February 2011. All orders received after this time were placed on a ‘stand-by’ list in the event that any further tickets could be released.
In the vast majority of cases, no money was taken from any of the individuals or clubs who were on ‘stand-by’, and certainly no tickets were issued to anyone that have subsequently been asked to be returned.
Some 7,000 fans have applied to the FAW for tickets for the match after the sell-out figure was reached. In many cases, individuals and clubs missed the second deadline all together, but still sent-in applications. As with any event, once the seating capacity has been reached then no further sales can be made, regardless of the public demand.
There was an administrative error made in one specific area of the ground that resulted in a number of applications having to be refused after having originally been told that the tickets had been secured. For this error, the FAW has already apologised and letters have been sent to all those affected. This numbers some 1,500 seats, split between Welsh and English fans.
The wildly inaccurate information that is currently circulating via the Internet in particular paints a very distorted picture. The ticketing process that the FAW has adhered to is with the full backing of the South Wales Police, Millennium Stadium and our own auditors.
We recognise people’s disappointment at not being able to attend the game and would urge them to join the FAW member’s scheme that will guarantee them a ticket for matches in the future.

FAW: Keenor Collection Tuesday 1st March 2011
|

FAW GIVE GO-AHEAD TO KEENOR COLLECTION AT WALES-ENGLAND CLASH
BUCKET COLLECTION RAISES MORE THAN £1,700 FOR KEENOR STATUE APPEAL
The appeal committee is delighted to announce that we raised £1,710.89 (subject to checking at the bank) from the bucket collection outside the Millennium Stadium before Wales v England.
This was great considering many of the fans were not Cardiff City supporters or even regular Wales fans. We were allocated three of the stadium’s Gates – 5,6 and 7 – to collect from.
Thanks to the volunteers who made the event such a success, to those that generously chipped in cash and to the Football Association of Wales for allowing us to hold the bucket collection.
You can still help the appeal by buying one of the 8in figurines of Fred Keenor or the pin badges. You can get further details on purchasing these items by contacting fundraising@ccfctrust.org.
The efforts of everyone mean the kitty stands at over £46,000, well over half-way.
We’re delighted to announce on St David’s Day that the Football Association of Wales has given the go-ahead for a bucket collection in aid of the Fred Keenor Statue Appeal at the sell-out Wales-England clash.
David Craig, project manager of the appeal, said: “Playing England is always the biggest game for Welsh football fans, so we’re thrilled the FAW has generously given us permission to hold a bucket collection before the Euro qualifier later this month. With a sell-out audience, we are very hopeful of raising a substantial sum for the appeal thanks to the support of fans at the game. Football supporters have been enormously generous already and the message we’re getting from them is that we want to see a statue erected in aid of Fred Keenor, who captained both Wales and Cardiff City to great success, and reached the top of the game despite being badly injured in the Battle of the Somme. We’re hoping that supporters, wherever they come from, will get behind the appeal by digging deep into their pockets while also cheering Wales on to a famous victory over the old enemy. That would be fantastic,” said David.
The appeal, which was launched 11 months ago, has raised more than £41,000 – almost half-way to the £85,000 cost of the permanent tribute to Fred Keenor.
The international takes place at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, March 26th, kick off 3pm.

Wales v England - FORM A (PDF) Publication date - 3 Feb 2011 Ticket and red membership application
updated: Thu, 3 February, 2011 20:02 UK.
The Wales Supporters Club is still open and fans are welcome to sign up. Membership forms can be downloaded from the FAW website at www.faw.org.uk/ticket-information/membership. Red Membership is free of charge and despite previously not been given any priority on tickets, these members are eligible to purchase one ticket each for this match.
Gold and Silver members of the Wales Supporters Club will be given the opportunity to purchase up to five tickets, although they must provide details of every person they are buying a ticket for. Members will be responsible for everyone in their party and the FAW will terminate the membership of anyone who passes tickets on to away fans.
The FAW has taken the decision to sell tickets for the above match to members only, in order to maximise the level of Welsh support in the Millennium Stadium and limit the number of home-end tickets being passed on to away fans.
Due to the increased security of the match, the FAW is not allowed to hold a general public sale, as we would normally do with other home matches. It is imperative we minimise the risk of having away fans in the home end and for this reason we have agreed to only sell tickets to Wales Supporters Club members, Welsh football clubs and Welsh schools / associations.
As well as Wales Supporters Club members, we are making tickets available to every football club and school in Wales. The FAW has also introduced a Kickback scheme for this match, whereby clubs and schools will be financially rewarded for the purchase of tickets and will receive 25% cash back off the total cost of tickets purchased.
Thus, the purchase of 100 adult tickets at £25.00 per ticket has a face value of £2,500.00. With the Kickback scheme this order would equate to £625.00 cash back. Junior and senior citizen prices are reduced further but will operate under the same cash back principle.
This decision has been made to provide a mechanism for Welsh clubs and schools to reward their supporters and pupils and to provide a potential source of income. There will be no limit on the number of tickets a club or school can order, provided all tickets are supplied to Welsh fans only.
The FAW will send application forms to all Wales Supporters Club members in the next week. Forms will be sent to football clubs from both the FAW and via Area Associations over the next couple of weeks. Any Welsh schools, associations or club groups who would like to apply for tickets should email tickets@faw.co.uk stating the contact name, school or club name and postal address. Application forms will be sent out within a week.
The closing date for all applications is Monday 31st January 2011. Tickets are subject to availability and applications will be processed on a first come first served basis.
