NEWS: Four nations set for 2011
Wales v Republic of Ireland : photo linked from eur.yimg.comThe Football Associations of Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Scotland have today unveiled details for a celebration 4 Association Tournament to take place in Dublin in Spring 2011.

Thousands of supporters from all over Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland are expected to descend on Dublin for a truly special football tournament that will see the neighbouring teams compete for the 4 Associations Cup. The opening two matches are scheduled for February 2011, with four further matches to be played in May 2011. The tournament will be operated on a league basis and will be the ideal opportunity for all four teams to test themselves against their nearest neighbours. With so many connections between the four countries, and bragging rights at stake, this tournament will be sure to grab the attention of fans all across the UK and Ireland.

We look forward to crossing swords with our two cousins from across the Irish Sea, as well as Scotland in friendly rivalry. Wales go down by 2 goals to 1 against Russia in the second 2010 World Cup qualifier. A goal by Pogbreniak 9 minutes from time gave the Russians all 3 points in Moscow. Joe Ledley had equalised for Wales after a Pavlyichenko penalty had given the home side a half-time lead. Final Score from Moscow: Russia 2 Wales 1

TEAM NEWS
Sam Ricketts is a major doubt, the Hull City defender was expected to start the game  but missed Tuesday's training session after picking up a virus. "I would say it is 50-50 for him to be involved." - boss John Toshack.

Jason Koumas will not travel to Moscow for game against Russia. It has been decided that in the best interests of the player he returns to his club to rest his ankle injury. Good news on Gareth Bale, the left back is fit and will be available for selection. Paul Parry will not travel with the squad as he has decided to retire from international football.

Jason Koumas admits he is "struggling" to be fit for the game in Moscow. Gareth Bale complained "a little bit of groin injury" in the second-half of the game against Azerbaijan but he is expected to be fit.


The Football Union of Russia has confirmed the venue and kick off time for game against Russia. The match will be played at the Lokomotiv Stadium in Moscow with a 7pm kick off. (4pm in the UK)

Russia v Wales - Wednesday 10th September 2008.

Wales are set to visit Moscow for the first away game in the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign. The match will most probably be played at the
Lokomotiv Stadium. The game will be confirmed by the FAW once they get confirmation from FIFA and the Russian Football Union.
