The FAW, in conjunction with Les Croupiers Running Club, are organising a 5k Fun-Run starting in Bute Park, Cardiff Castle, on Sunday 21st March 2010. It starts at 11am.
The race is aimed at raising awareness of men's health issues and the charities that support such initiatives. These will include the John Hartson Foundation, Checkemlads.com and Everyman. Former Wales international John Hartson has fully supported the fun run and it is hoped that he will be with us on the day.
Runners - male only, with no age limit - are being asked to run in the football kit of their favourite team.
The proceeds from the entry fee of £15 will go to the John Hartson Foundation that aims to help cancer charities and hospitals in West Wales. Runners are then able to raise funds for their own choice of charity through their own private sponsorship, or the designated charities mentioned above.
There will be a prize for the race winner and t-shirts for all entrants.
The event will be covered by TV and Radio and promises to be a good day out as well as helping to benefit some very worthy causes, so come on, get in training, get your mates involved and find your running shoes!
Entry forms and further information are available through the FAW at: info@faw.co.uk.
The FAW have had confirmation that John Hartson will be starting the race.
