Brian Flynn’s Under 21 side moved to the top of Group 3 with an excellent 4-1 win against Hungary at the Racecourse Ground. First half goals from Shaun MacDonald and two from Ched Evans gave Wales a 3-1 lead at the break. A late Andy King goal earned Wales the victory and gave the home side their second win in the group.
"There were a lot of good individual performances out there tonight and I'd be hard pushed to pick a man of the match, Individually they each have their strengths and collectively they are a very good, very tight group and we are fortunate that we have three or four who have a lot of experience of under-21 football. In tournaments like this it is important to win your home games. That's what we aim to do and then we'll hope to nick a result or two on our travels". - Brian Flynn.
