Wales have been drawn in Group 4 along with:

Liechtenstein, Azerbaijan, Finland, Russia and Germany.

The fixture meeting to decide the match schedule for Group 4 Qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup will be held in Frankfurt, Germany on Thursday 10th January 2008.

The group means Wales are reunited with Germany from the recently completed Euro 2008 Qualifiers. Wales last met Filand in the Euro 2004 Qualifiers and then Russia in the play-off matches. Also in that qualifying group were Azerbaijan, who also featured in the World Cup Qualifying Group for 2006. Wales has never played Liechtenstein in a competative game, though a friendly was played at Wrexham last year.  - 25-Nov-07
