cup squad update Karl Yelland (QPR) has
replaced Neil Eardley (injured) in the Under 19 Milk Cup squad, the squad travel
out on Saturday for next week's tournament. also Craig
Moses (Merthyr Tydfil) replaces Curtis Mcdonald (Cardiff City) and Chris Maxwell
(Wrexham) replaces Steven Cann (Derby County)
Callum Hawthorne
(Fulham) has replaced Rhys Taylor (Chelsea). Rhys will be with the Chelsea

The Wales Under 19
side will be take part in the 2006 Northern Ireland
Milk Cup tournament, the matches will be preparation
for the UEFA 2006/2007 Under-19 1st qualifying round
matches at the end of October. Also confirmed that the
Milk Cup will be the start of the Under 19 preparation
schedule, with no friendly matches planned before then.
Wales
will be drawn into a 3 team group for the tournament,
also in the Under 19 elite section are Northern Ireland,
Denmark, Turkey, USA and Paraguay. Draw to be made 30th
May. Dates for matches July 31 – August 4.

Under 19s won their final game in Group 7 as they beat
San Marino 5-1. Goals were scored by Rob Davies 2, Curtis
McDonald, Mark Bradley and Adam Davies. Wales finished
the group in third place and failed to qualify for the
Elite round.
In the other game,
France beat Austria 2-0.

The Wales under 19 side lost 3-1 to France in their
first game in Group 7, Wales took the lead after only a minute, thanks to a goal
from Cardiff City's Curtis McDonald. France equalised mid way through the first
half, France took control in the second half and scored another two goals to run
out 3-1 winners. Rob Davies came closest to scoring when the WBA midfielder hit
the post. Overall it was a very good performance from Brian Flynn’s side against
the group favourites. - from

With the withdrawals of Joe Ledley and David Cotterill
from the U-19 squad for next week’s UEFA matches, both Scott McCoubrey (Cardiff
City) and Jamie Price (Birmingham City) have been called up.
Joe Ledley has been
withdrawn from the squad at the request of his club
manager. "We'd be without one of out top players
and so I'm glad Wales have agreed that he should stay
with us." said Caridff City manager Dave Jones.

double header against Turkey. It was an impressive performance
from the U-19s who were missing several key players
due to club commitments. Wales nearly won the game at
the end when Jamal Easter went close after good work
by Robert Davies.

squad announcement The U-19 squad for the
friendly matches against Turkey should be announced
on Tuesday 12th July. The matches on the 26th and
28th July are in preparation for the 1st Qualifying
Round of the UEFA U-19 Championship in October.

The venues for the U-19 friendly matches against
Turkey have been announced. The match on the 26th July will be played at
Haverfordwest (kick off 7pm), with the second friendly on the 28th July being
played at Llanelli (kick off 7.30pm). Brian
Flynn will be in charge of the U-19 squad, no date for
squad announcement as yet.

£3.00 for adults, £1.00 for juveniles (under 16 years
of age) and O.A.P.s

Brian Flynn took charge of the U-19 squad for the first time at a three day
training camp in Neath. Absentees from the 26 original players selected were
Kyle Critchell (Southampton), Lloyd James (Southampton), Rhys Powell (Bolton),
David Cotterill (Bristol City).
The training camp was is in preparation for the "Double Header" friendly
matches against Turkey in July, and the 1st Qualifying Round of the UEFA U-19
Tournament. Matches to be played in France from October 22nd – 29th.

meet up at the beginning of May for a squad training
camp. Dates are 3rd-5th May. Camp to be held in Neath.
Squad to be announced shortly.
