In preparation for the UEFA 2nd round qualifying mini-tournament in Portugal next March the U-17's will have two training camps. First will be in South Wales during January with the second in North Wales during late February. Full squad list to follow by the end of the week.

UEFA U-17 championship result: : Wales 4 Azerbaijan 0- Scott Thyer(2) (6 ,12 mins), Jamal Easter(2) (31 ,51 mins).

The result of the other match in Group 11 was Turkey 5 Georgia 0, so both Wales and Turkey finished with 7 points. 

The top two sides go through to the next group stage and after the drawing of lots Wales were placed in a group with Portugal, Israel and Greece. These matches will be played between March 7th-13th 2004.

UEFA U-17 championship result: : Turkey 1 Wales 1 - (Wayne Hennessy)

Goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy scores last minute equalizer from 40 yards. The U-17's need a point from last match against Azerbaijan on Saturday to proceed to next qualifying round.

UEFA U-17 championship result: : Georgia 0 Wales 2 - (Scott Thyer 2)

The Wales Under 17 team, under manager Ian Rush beat Georgia 2-0 in their
opening UEFA 'B' Championship tournament in Turkey this afternoon. Both
goals came from Scott Thyer. Also in the four team group are Azerbaijan.
