When Simon Davies quickly closed down in midfield this started disturbing the rhythm of a good technical side who liked playing keep football so Wales could assert themselves after the first half hour. A captain's performance from the oft maligned Robert Page and Tranmere's Roberts put himself about well when he came on. Partridge gave the ball away too often when passing out of defence.
