Confirmation that defenders Mark Delaney (knee injury) and Danny Collins (Achilles injury) are out of the World Cup squad to face England and Poland, which leaves manager John Toshack with a 22-man squad for the matches.

Defender Ben Thatcher is selected but he will only be available for the Poland game as he is suspended for the England game. There are six Welsh players on yellow cards for that game, players including John Hartson, Jason Koumas, Danny Gabbidon, Robert Page, Carl Fletcher and David Partridge.

The squad meets up on Monday afternoon August 29th ahead of the World Cup matches at home against England and away to Poland. In preparation the squad will have five training sessions, one at the New Stadium, Swansea, one at the Millennium Stadium and the others at Ninian Park.
